Our story
About Us
Crawley Makerspace is being started by a father-son team, Huck and Patrick. We want Crawley to have a place where creators, innovators and hobbyists can come together to share ideas, tools and knowledge — and we're building it with the people who'll use it.
We already have the tools — a table saw, a wood lathe, a router table and plenty of hand and power tools. What a makerspace really needs is people — a community of members who make it worth turning up — and a physical space to put it all in. That's what we're working on now.
Founder
Huck Finne
Huck moved to Crawley in 2023 after living in the United States. His wife grew up here, so Crawley was already home to the family before they arrived. The couple were married at St Edward's Catholic Church, where they are parishioners.
In the US, Huck studied environmental engineering at university, then worked in nuclear engineering in the US Navy's submarine force. He went on to medical school and is now an anaesthetist, and has worked on innovation in medicine along the way.
At home, he's always got projects on the go with his sons and daughter. Crawley Makerspace is about giving everyone in town the tools, space and people to do the same.
